A moment ago it was "deep shit"
(Deep Shit = a Singlish word I’ve picked up but choose not to say it out loud due to it’s bad literal meaning)

But now, I’m once again fully charged and I will continue to march on!!

Eusoff Hall’s Dance Production
"A Feast of Fate"

will be on nian29 16th of February,
one day before nian30 of Chinese New Year.

I’ve been working in the SETS Team for the past month.
Visit http://joshuatj.multiply.com to look at our progress since DAY ONE.

I try to keep a consistent record of our every day’s progress.
One or two days are missing due to unforeseen circumstances.
Some of them are still in my computer and i’ll upload it over the weekend.

Currently reading "God Chaser".

I have the "finally" feeling,
feeling that coming to Singapore is really a GREAT CHOICE!
Thank you LORD!!!

I’ve certainly learned a lot,
fully utilising my time and pushing myself to the infinite limit!!!

Those who want real challenge and hate yourself slacking away all the time
should give Singapore University a try!!!

BUT WARNING!! Those who prefer to slack and have more time to himself.
Hate to study,
hate to pre-read,
hate to do homework…
.
.
.
.
.
should more so study in Singapore University!!!
It’ll be a LIFE TRANSFORMING choice!   ^^ :Þ

Go Joshua Go!!!

CAP 2.5

Haha…
For the past three weeks,
I’ve set my MSN nickname to show my CAP score.
In case you don’t know what does CAP stands for,
well, CAP = Cumulative Average Points.
Basically, it means my exam grade lar~!

so 2.5 is super low~!!! (average ppl gets 3.5)
2.5 out of 5.0.
Well, No regrets whatsoever…
Considering what i’ve done and learned for the whole semester.

But no matter what I say now, my CAP is still very low, 2.5.
2.5 means I didn’t master the modules that I’m suppose to master.
2.5 means my priority was wrong last semester. (CCA & networking blinded me for one semester)

Haha…
2.5 can also mean Engineering Science is a "don’t play play" course~!
2.5 means a brief one-on-one lecture with Engineering Science Prof. :Þ

2.5 means i’ll have to triple my effort this semester~!
(mid-exam period I already know not much can be done to save my first sem, thus, I’ve bought some of the text book. During the holidays I’ve pre-read the text books and watch some online lectures.)

getting a CAP of 4.0 this semester will push my overall CAP to
((4.0 x 5)+(2.5 x 4))/9
= 30/9
= 3.3 (good enough :p)

getting another CAP 4.0 in SEM 3 will push my CAP to
((4 x 5) + 30) / 14
= 3.57 (great lar~!)

SEM 4, CAP 4.0 again~!
((4 x 5) + 50 )/ 19
= 3.68 (not bad)

little voice A in joshuatj head :
"eh…… how come CAP is a concern now?
I thought your principle of studying is
good results is an award of good effort (results is a result of good effort)’

You put in effort, you’ll get good results~!

It’s never the other way round~!!

It’s not
‘I want good results, thus, I put in extra effort~!’

Well, that’ll make studying and putting in effort as a forceful and boring task.
What good is good result if what you’re doing you don’t enjoy?

I thought this is the principle that you always hold on to? "

little voice A in joshuatj’s head :
"how much effort have you put in last semester?"

little voice B in joshuatj’s head :
"eh~ eh~ GOOD RESULTS = GOOD FUTURE~!!!"

joshuatj thinks for a while….

Nope, my future is in God’s hand.
My task is to be a good steward.

But, honestly, it’s really really super duper ultra tempting to just stick on to
"aiming for CAP" principle.
Well, you might be able to see the result in a short term.

But life is not about scoring good grades and getting good results.
(haha, now that my results are bad, saying the line above lack some power. It makes me like some fox who thinks all grapes are sour.)

Aha… I know what’s the area that I seriously need to work on~!
They’re Discipline, Time Management & Priority.

Well, there are people who can manage their responsibilities well.
Getting good grades and achieving great things at the same time~!

I always believe that my days in Singapore are a sort of training or a molding process, with God being the potter.
Just by living a life of good stewardship,
putting in my best for everything that come my way,
I’ll truly be molded into a nice pot,
a good vessel,
a good steward for His plans~!

Discipline will be

  • Sleeping time.
  • Study time.
  • CCA time.

Time Management
will be (no particular order)

  • CCA commitments
  • Church commitments.
  • Lessons.
  • Tutorials.
  • Self-study time.

Priority will be (in descending order)
Father God, As I write my priorities list,
please grant me wisdom and insight.

  1. God
  2. Church (FCBC & Ethnos Emmanuel)
  3. Studies (everything in ESP)
  4. EusoffWorks
  5. AudioWorks
  6. DPSETS
  7. SecondNature
  8. VOICES
  9. HL MILK

Thank you Lord. I submit all my activities and commitments into Your hands.
Lead me and guide me as I continue my second semester in NUS.
In Jesus most precious name I pray, Amen.

ok, lastly I shall quote my papa in a recent email to me.
It was a reply to some of my questions and doubts.

The Westminster Shorter Catechism quotes:

The chief end of man is to
glorify God and
to enjoy Him forever.

God did not only made us to glorify Him but He
also wants us to enjoy Him, of course, His creation too.
‘To glorify
God’ does not mean we are robots - only know how to obey and submit
mechanically.
It actually means we praise, thank, appreciate, adore,
worship, admire, love, communicate with, work with, play with Him all
the time.
But not with a heavy, dull or reluctant heart.
We are to
enjoy every moment of it with Him as a person, student, parent, worker,
boss, friend, servant, pastor, leader, ordinary Christian etc..

Oh yay~!!

To GLORIFY Him and ENJOY Him forever~!!!

Oh yay~!!~~!!~~!!

Glorify Him with whatever I do~! (that includes study, of course~!!)
Enjoy Him with my whole being~!!

Are you enjoying your LIFE  ???
