Sad to say, I was dumb founded when a friend of mine asked me
what is the significance of the Holy Communion.
Hahaha~~~ It’s really a sad case, being a 20 years Christian myself.

Well, it’s not like I don’t know anything at all about the Holy Communion.
It’s just that I can’t find suitable words to express and explain it to my friend.

I’ve decided to consult my papa,
Quoted below are his answers :

Holy Communion is :-
1. Rememberance - To remember what Christ had done for us on the cross.
2.  Thanksgiving - To give thanks for Christ’s work on the cross through sacrificing of shedding blood and broken body.
3.  Participation - To partake of Christ’s blood and body through
wine and bread. This partaking is participation with the shame and
victory of Christ.
4.  Fellowship - To share the peace and forgiveness of Christ with
one another through sharing in the Fellowship meal of the Lord,
sometimes called the AGAPE feast.

We believe in the REAL presence of Christ which means Christ is present
while we celebrate the Holy Communion. There is no changing of the
elements (bread and wine) into Christ’s body and blood.

I always believe in output learning.
Therefore I’ll try to rephrase the 4 important points to make sure I really understand.

Holy Communion is about
Remembrance = a reminder for what Jesus had done for me.

Thanksgiving = giving thanks for everything that Jesus had done for me, his blessings, his grace, my salvation.

Participation = eating the wine and bread signifies that I have participate in the death and resurrection of Jesus.  This includes dying to the old self and living a disciplined life.
After further clarification with my father,
"Shame of Christ" : People who dislike Jesus will dislike me (be prepared) and cause shame.
"Victory of Christ" : People who love Jesus will love me.
Of course, the fact that Jesus loves me is already indisputable.

Fellowship = The sharing of peace and forgiveness with other Jesus followers.
The real PEACE lies in God, Jehovah Shalom, we must always be constantly reminded that God is peace, the peace in the heart and the soul even in adversities.
FORGIVENESS, I LOVE because God first LOVE me.
Love, of course, includes forgiveness.

I guess that’s all for today.

Going to meet up with Clement and we’re going post encounter class at Bukit Merah.
