Oh well, if you are reading this post and you are still unaware of your friend here has been keeping his hair long, hop on to my facebook profile and peek at some of the amazing photos taken of long hair joshuatj.
I have long wanted to document this amazing experience of keeping a long hair for a Chinese Guy in South East Asia, specifically in Malaysia-Singapore.
First of all, I am amazed at the amount of people who inherently associate long hair to being a girl. Why must keeping a long hair a girls solely privilege?
Why can’t guys keep long hair as well?
Of course, keeping a long hair brings despair in the form of the hair constantly brushing against your face, the hair tickle your nose, the hair poke your eyes.. it seems to have more trouble than advantages.
So why did I decide to keep a long hair then?
I questioned myself on countless nights.
A simple hair cut in Singapore costs 10SGD and that’s RM24, that, coupled with the reluctance to find a cheap and decent saloon was the motivation in letting the hair grow on its own course.
Of course, my inherent nature of extreme curiousity and wanting to try something new pushes me forward and here I am with a hair-length of 15cm.
Part of me is very curious as to how people around me will react when they came to realise my plans or seeing me in long hair.
The best part of this journey is to be able to stun long-time-no-meet friends.
I’m waiting for the opportunity to meet up with my primary & secondary school friends in the upcoming Chinese New Year.
This time, I will try to jot down what is their first response after seeing me for the first time.
Honestly, I have quite a bit of fun trying to maintain my long hair. From learning the use of a conditioner and actually applying it to buying hair bands and to the most recent endeavor of buying a hair blower myself.
Of course, I have to thank quite a number of girls in being patient and explaining the art of maintaining a long hair.
But seriously, what is so good about keeping a long hair?
to be continued…
next up.. the ultimate plan… queue hair style!
