So, twitter is down. 10 of my tweets went down the drain. Thus, I decide the best way to keep record of my adventures here in LA is to blog.

6 Aug 2009, the day where I’ve shouted “I’m from Malaysia” in KODAK Theater with 3500 people in the audiences and got a DVD from some celebrity “audience MC”.

Ok, the day began with me hogging out of the bed and rush to Hollywood Blvd/Highland Ave thru 720+780 Metro Rapid. With some divine intervention, I got myself 2 tickets to the show as LIVE Audience. What I did was just to sign up on the “Waiting List” @ OnCamera Audience. Just before I am to leave for San Francisco 1st Aug, I got an email saying that I am given the opportunity to be the LIVE audience during the SYTYCD finale @ KODAK Theater. Whoa~

Without hesitation, I reserved 2 tickets. Ever since, I try to get someone to attend this joyous occasion with me. Weirdly, nobody is free? Finally I got someone but she didn’t turn up on that day itself, and after 10,000 missed calls and 4pm, I gave the extra tickets away to a lady and her daughter. They were walking around with a little piece of paper asking for 2 tickets for the show. They still need another ticket for both of them to get in, but eventually I’ve learned that someone else gave them another ticket.

The specific details of the show are reported all across the internet.

However there are some differences between the LIVE audience show and the show you see on TV. This website http://www.buzzsugar.com/3830041 gave an reality check on the TV recording. It is a clear proof that whatever you see on TV (even though it says LIVE) might not be truly LIVE at all. ^^ Thanks to the power of video editing!

Once clear example that I thought it’s worth mentioning is the fact that we (live audience) are staring at an empty stage during the mirror dance while people back home see the dance that’s pre-recorded.

Since it was a LIVE show, during the commercial breaks, the “Audience MC” (don’t remember his name, if someone knows please let me know) went around to interview people and gave out FREE SYTYCD DVD.

The highlight of the show (for me) is that I was chosen to be interviewed. I am sitting on Level 5 (3rd level of the balcony - called Mezzanine 3). I was asked “What’s your name” - “Joshua” | “where are you from?”, proudly I’ve answered “I’m from Malaysia”. There you go, I’m sure among the 3500 people some are wondering where is this place? Now you know - awareness created! Then the MC went on to ask me “Are you a dancer” - “No”. Then he went to ask a few questions and finally he commented that “The next time I see Cardio Funk it’ll remind me of Joshua as this is cardio [pointing at my cargo pants] and this is funk [pointing at my 'funky?' batik]. Then he handed me the DVD.

How I, among 3500 others was chosen dazzled me. The “mother” that I gave the extra ticket said that “It must be good KARMA, you gave us the ticket and now you get it”. KARMA or not, I believe this is not coincidence. This little event itself marks another BIG eye-opener for joshuatj, and things will never be the same again - I have my own stories to TELL!

After the event, I gave the incident some thought and I figure it must be the BATIK + Cargo Pants + long hair tied up combination that got me chosen. Of course, the fact is that the whole row is full of girls and I’m like the minority. Before my turn, little boys (8 years old) are chosen.

So there you go, a little exciting account of me getting a “So You Think You Can Dance - Cardio Funk Get Fit DVD”
